Is it just me or is there a sense of peace beyond compare that floods the depths of a women’s soul when the dishes are clean and put away from dinner, the kids trail of belongings left behind from school return to their rightful places, and you’re able to catch up on the laundry monster that has invaded your laundry room! Cap this moment off with a three-wick candle from Bath and Body Works and this feeling is as comforting as a day at the spa. Can I get a witness?!?

I’m not the type that is able to function in the middle of chaos. I strive daily knowing this about myself as I use spare moments throughout my time at home putting things away. Before I lose you, I can promise that while I do my best to have my home meet my high expectations, (you know, that expectation of having the 1950’s version of a Suzy homemaker home) most of the time I do fall incredibly short. In my home one of the last things to get the proper attention it needs is the pile of clothes that should be hung up in my closet. Often these items don’t get there because of the lack of time that I’ve got to place them on a hanger! I know there are several of you out there that have that same chair that seems to be growing by the day. This mound of clothes doesn’t consist of my comfy lounging wear, or my favorite t-shirt. These clothes are usually our “Sunday Best”! The expensive sports coat, my favorite blue blazer, the best of the Morgan closet! Not only are they getting wrinkled and devalued by being strung out on our bedroom chair, but they are also being covered up with other things causing them to be less accessible. I’ve been burying our best!

Women are designed to be life-bearers. We are the ones who God designed specifically to give birth, bring forth life. Unfortunately, in many instances instead of being known for bringing life, speaking life, and having the living water flowing from us, we are known for being naggers! Ouch! The life flow that we should be operating from has been cut off. It’s suffocating under the mound of other priorities controlling our lives. Have you been burying your best?

We read in the book of John chapter 7 that Jesus is speaking to a crowd of people in Judea during a Jewish festival. Jesus was reluctant to go to this festival because many in the area were hostile toward him and were plotting to kill him. We pick up this encounter in John 7:37-38 NIV “On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

The audience Jesus was speaking to were buried in religiosity! They were known for living a lifestyle that made the rules of life cause them to become the community naggers. They would continually point out what they perceived to be Jesus and His disciples’ shortcomings. Jesus was offering them a new flow!  Out of our belly should flow rivers of living water. We are life speakers. What has been coming from you lately? Are you filling your home with faith or fear? Are you trusting God in your circumstances, or have you taken on the role of God and are plowing your way through this season?

Notice in John 7:37-38, Jesus said rivers of living water will follow from those who believe in Him! Do you say you believe in Jesus, but your actions reveal differently? Change your flow!

The apostle Paul asks the Corinthian believers in 2 Corinthians 13:5, “…do you not realize about yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you?” There is beauty inside of you! Bring the Jesus in you to the surface again. Let him lead your conversations, your responses, and your everyday tasks. Find you flow again, live in His presence. Speak life to your families, your work situations, your finances, and your health! Be the life speaker you’ve been created to be.
